Victoria's Poems

When you  first arrived at K.D. High,

I was much younger and really quite shy,

I wasn’t sure if I liked you at all,

But when I came to your class,

I sure had a ball.

You were kind, you were sweet

You were caring to me,

You were much more approachable

Than any teacher could be.

We all looked up to you,

From first form to the sixth,

You went down well with all the school

Bur with me you really clicked.

At first you were my teacher,

Then mentor you became.

You changed my views on many things,

I’ve never thought the same.

My life has not been easy,

I’ve sometimes been quite ill,

The past few months have been a fight

When things have gone downhill.

You cheered me up and made me smile,

You took me under your wing.

You listened to my problems

You even took time to ring.

Between my hospital stays

You called around to visit,

You overwhelmed me with your care,

I’m really going to miss it.

At Carmel Mrs. H. was kind

When I changed my medication,

I really was quite overcome

By your family’s consideration.

Finally I want to say

How very  much I’ll miss you

A GREAT BIG THANKS for all you’ve done

L’hitra-ot – G-d bless you.

July 2000.
