Happy Birthday Mummy
Fifty-five you are today,
Where has the time gone?
It makes me so proud to look at you,
And know that’s where I came from.
What you won’t do for me,
There really isn’t much,
You help me in life through and through, And my heart you really touch.
You have been in my life until now,
From the day that I popped out,
It’s not been easy at times,
Occasionally we scream and shout.
But mum I don’t know what to say,
You really are the best,
I really do tell you everything,
Even if it’s three a.m. and I disturb your rest!
I’d be lost without you as my mum,
To guide me and show me the way,
Although directing me some places,
Really does make your hair go grey.
I miss our nightime cuddles and chats,
Although I do phone you five times a day, But now I proved you wrong, And I really can cope living away.
But I hope you know why this is,
It’s because I have parents like you,
Who have helped me through a tough 19 years, And each word of this is true.
I love you so, so much,
You’re my huge great shining star,
I hope I will make you very proud one day, And one day I promise to wash my car!
