Victoria's Poems

Love of My Life – Man of My dreams

We danced all night together

And how my knees went weak

But once the song had finished

I felt I could hardly speak.

And when the dance was over

I felt so all alone

You’d walked into the distance

Oh how I’d wish you’d phone.

You were the love of my life

I’ve loved you for years

The man of my dreams

Will it all end in tears?

Before you left the party

You walked right up to me

You asked me my address

And said you’d contact me.

You went into your pocket

And brought out a book

You wrote in it my number

I couldn’t believe my luck.

You were the love of my life

I’ve loved you for years

The man of my dreams

Will it all end in tears?

Now some weeks have passed

I’ve been waiting by the ‘phone

I’ve heard from different people

That you’re still on your own.

The light at the end of the tunnel

Will shine when we’re together

I hop that will be soon

And our love will last forever.

You were the love of my life

I’ve loved you for years

The man of my dreams

Will it all end in tears?
