Mitzvah PagePlease do a mitzvah (good deed) in the name of Victoria to keep her memory alive... Once you have done it please take a minute to fill in the form so that her proud parents may know how you have perpetuated her memory. ______________________________________________ The best thing I can think of that I can do in appreciation for having known Victoria is to say the rosasry next Sunday at mass. G-d bless Victoria, Joe ______________________________________________ today a random stranger did a mitzvah for me. i was completely lost and was rushing to be somewhere important. when i stopped to ask a lady for directions she gave me a lift towards where i needed to be because otherwise i would never have made it in time. it made me think of torti because it is the kind of thing she would have done to help out anybody, whether a friend she happened to see, or even a complete stranger. i have no idea who the woman was and i shall probably never meet her again, but in that one moment she put herself out to help me, and in doing so has again made me look at my own life, and think of the lessons we can learn from other people's kindness. victoria was the embodiment of the type of person we should all strive to be - kind beyond words and helpful to others - even a stranger who is lost and wandering down the street ______________________________________________ I will read the shema once every week before I go to bed ______________________________________________ I am just about to leave for Israel and begin some voluntary work with Magen David Adom. It seems only natural to take on such a responsibility in Torti's name, as one of her many incredible qualities was to always help others in any way she knew how, and in doing so she touched the lives of so many. My next 2 months in Israel are dedicated to Victoria. Atarah Haber ______________________________________________ Dear Mr and Mrs Lynn, I go to Leeds university and although I never met Victoria, I would just like to tell you that she sounds like such a special person and i'm so glad that you are performing so many mitzvot in her honour. Thank you for sharing your daughter's memories, they are meaningful even to those who were not lucky enough to know her. Avital Pearlman ______________________________________________ What better mitzvah could I pick in the
zechus (merit) of Victoria than lighting Debbie Topperman (nee Henshaw) Before Shabbat this week I did a mitzvah for Victoria. Mummy had been in England with Bryan so she had no time to clean up for Shabbat, so I helped her to hoover the salon Anat LArah ______________________________________________ We are collecting money in King David High School in torti's name to go to a charity of the families choice. Jonathan and Ben Cooper ______________________________________________ Today I was the tenth man to make a minyan at a shiva house. It was in an old people's home and I also helped an old lady to open her door as she had dropped her key on the floor. I thought of Victoria whilst helping the lady. Charles Larah ______________________________________________ Yesterday i was teaching a 12
year old boy how to read Hebrew, so that he can say Andrew Davis ______________________________________________ I am studying to be a teacher
and i will be proud to teach the values that I ______________________________________________ I am strongly of the belief that we must perpetuate the memory of those closest to us in a positive and respectful manner. On a personal level I feel humbled, honoured and proud to have known Tortie. We always had a great time together. I find myself unable to express in print my sentiments to you her inspriational family. I have taken it upon myself to dedicate the Jewish Studies teaching I have the joy in delivering in schools in Leeds to the memory of Tortie. What I learnt from her throughout our many years of friendship bypass any text or programme of study. from Tortie I learnt, and continue to learn humility and dignity. Tortie's inspiration challenges all of us to make our lives extraordinary. In her legacy we shall all excell. I sincerely hope and beleive that your truly breathtaking family will become even stronger. Together we can enjoy many years of both witnessing and facilitating the amazing impact Tortie's life will have on all whom are lucky enough to become a part of it. All my love, Stephen R x x x ______________________________________________ Please Note that all new letters will be added to the top of the list.
