THE BALL

Been out to buy your frock

For the long awaited ball

Debating whether to buy a jacket

Or to stick with your shawl.

Tonight is the night

Preparations starting early

You want to find love

Well, you are nearly 30.

With just 2 hours to go

You start getting changed

Being so careful with your dress

These things can really be a pain.

Now time for the make up

Wanting to look just great

You pile on the products

Hoping you won’t be late.

Hair is all sorted

Up on top of your head

You’re determined to have a good time

But really hope to find love instead.

The party begins with your mates round

Then getting the taxi to the ball

Your friend’s starting to annoy you

Saying her dress is far too small.

The meal was lovely

Now it’s time to have fun

You hop onto the dance floor

And start wiggling your bum.

Dancing away to the music

You feel a hand on your shoulder

It was a face you recognised

But was now looking much older.

An old friend from college

You hadn’t seen for years

You were so happy to see him

You both burst into tears.

A wonderful night was had by all

And now it was the end

You may not have found love

But you reunited with a special friend.
