Valentine Poem

When I first met you

I knew there was something there.

The night-time breeze

The freshness of the air.

I saw you from a distance

In a crowd of people you knew,

I could see you having such fun

Oh how I wanted to be there too.

You never saw me staring,

But when you turned round your eyes just shone

I had never felt this way before

Then I realised what I had done.

I had fallen in love

With a boy I’d heard about

From people saying very nice things

For myself – I wanted to find out.

I finally spoke to you

We got quite friendly on the phone,

Although you didn’t really know me

You would always listen to me moan.

I found your heart so warm and caring.

I want to stay with you forever.

I would like to be more than just friends

I’d like something to bring us together.
